Here at Wessex Knee, we also provide a 3D printing service. Mr Frame has done extensive research and has multiple peer reviewed publications on the application and democritisation of 3D printing technologies in medicine and orthopaedics in particular.
This included the creation of custom 3D printed orthopaedic implants, creation of anatomical models from CT scans and procedure rehearsal for surgery using 3D models. He currently uses this technology for trochleoplasty surgery.
Mr. Frame has had wide media coverage of this research including in Forbes Magazine, the BBC with Radio 4, national news coverage and Engadget.com. He has been an invited speaker and has had multiple podium presentations around the world on this topic.
We have used our skills and technology outside of medicine over the years and have produced 3D models for the AO Vet foundation , the US Marines, Edinburgh University and several artists including a national exhibit called the 'Particle - Things Unseen' by Artist Anne Beven.
